99 ways to make your computer blazingly fast

99 ways to make your computer blazingly fast (By Helpdeskgeek.com)

Here is great advice for speeding up your computer!! It amazes me that most people never do maintenance on their PCs. A little tweak here, and a little tweak there and your PC is humming right along. I personally own close to 20 different PCs and 2 Macs. I currently am building a super computer for Windows 7 that is super fast. I have been building PCs since the early 1980s, my first PC was an 8088 with two 50 meg drives and 512K ram which I upgraded a year later to 640K. I moved to the 286, then 386DX with the mathco processor, the 486, the Pentium, P2, P3 and P4. However it seems the last two years things with Processors Have slowed down a little. Yes, we have the Multi-Core CPUs, but it looks like Intel and AMD might have gone so far with this type of designs. Anyway, I hope that over the next few years we see some super processors come to the market! Regardless of how fast or slow your PC is check out the Helpdeskgeek.com site they have a ton of good information on keeping your computer running right along.

SaaS Disaster Recovery

SaaS Disaster Recovery (David Taber – ComputerWorld)

Here is a great article on SaaS (Software as a Service) Disaster Recovery. I really like the HIDE data ideas.
Disaster Recovery in any data dependant system is the responsibility of the client and in SaaS systems the Vendor/Provider. The client should always have the option to backup their data and download it from the SaaS system. We will see more of these types of issues as time goes by. Look at facebook.com; wouldn't it be nice to backup your profile? One of these days I predict that one of these social systems will have a Major Disaster and hopefully they have backed up their backups, it would be easier to have an additional backup plan, and that is the user having the capability to back up their own wall and profile. I am sure we will see this capability soon. For now keep holding your breathe!
