Saudi Arabia preparing for oil demand to peak (Associated Press)
Al-Sabban said the potential that world oil demand had peaked, or would peak soon, was an "alarm that we need to take more seriously" as Saudi charts a course for greater economic diversification.
As we know now, peak oil has been met this decade, and the demand for energy will continue to rise. We as energy consumers will need energy diversification, along with demand side and supply side management.
These are interesting and alarming problems that new technology systems will need to be created to move us to the next level of power and economic diversification. If we do not address this oil problem as a world of nations and continue to hide our heads in the sand, then we will have a very tough time when the oil supply cannot meet demand. Technology is our only hope, and power diversification on all levels must be created now.
